Home Tip Tuesday: February To-Dos

February is usually the time of year when we get restless from the already long winter. We wanted to share with you a few things to do during this time of year that will help get a jump start on the spring cleaning when it comes!

    1. Change Your Furnace Filter

It’s no secret that the air quality outside is at its worst during February. Don’t let the same be said for the air quality in your home. Now that the heating season is in full swing—even in parts of the country not accustomed to (or prepared for) near-freezing temperatures—be sure to clean or change your furnace filters regularly.

    2. Spiff Up The Paint

Assessing each of the walls in your house during February can give you a great idea for which rooms need a new coat of paint come Spring. Many of the scuffs and marks can be removed with a Magic Eraser and some elbow grease. If not, now is the time to start looking at design styles and inspiration to find that perfect match when the warmer weather comes back and its time to paint!

    3. Clean Refrigerator Coils

The month of February can bring the highest heating and utilities bill of the entire year. No method for making for your home more energy efficient can be overlooked. One of those ways that gets overlooked is the efficiency of your refrigerator. Keep your refrigerator in tiptop shape and save energy, clean the refrigerator condenser coils located in the back or on the bottom of the appliance.

Let us know if there is anything else we can put on our list for the month of February! This short list is a great place to start and a sure way to get ahead of the game come Spring.
